Verona Lacrosse is a volunteer run organization that’s primary goal is to promote youth lacrosse to both boys and girls.
The program is open to those in grades K through 8, with the season running from March to early June. The month of March primarily consists of practices, with games generally beginning in early April. The season is completed by the first week of June and is closely followed by a season-ending Jamboree.
For all children in grades K, 1, and 2, a clinic format is available.
The clinic is held on Saturday afternoons for 1 hour.
Third and fourth graders have separate girls and boys teams that typically play 8 to 10 modified games against teams from nearby towns, and practice about twice a week.
Competitive teams for those in grades 5 and 6, as well as 7 and 8 (also gender specific) typically participate in 12 to 14 games against teams from nearby towns; practices are usually 2 or 3 times a week.
The Verona Youth lacrosse program is run by a volunteer Board, and is coached for the most part by volunteers. Volunteers are needed and are welcome to assist in coaching and general organizational duties. No previous lacrosse experience is required. Any community member interested in getting involved in the program is welcome.
