Verona Municipal Alliance Committee (VMAC)

The Verona Municipal Alliance Committee (VMAC) provides educational programming and prevention outreach to the citizens of Verona. Its funding comes from a DEDR grant through the Governor’s Office of Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and Addiction Services with matching funds from the Township of Verona. VMAC was authorized by the Township of Verona in 1989 to promote the prevention efforts of the State of NJ at the community level.

VMAC’s Mission is to provide information on alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention, as well as healthy lifestyle choices to all members of the Verona community.  VMAC sponsors programs in collaboration with the Board of Education, Verona Community Center, Recreation Department and the Verona Police Department on topics of interest to our community.  These topics have included internet safety, Verona’s drug/alcohol policy, family management, and school-based issues.

VMAC Meetings are open to the public. Meetings start at 7:30pm and are held at the Verona Community Center. Please visit their website for meeting dates.
