For more than a century, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs has encouraged women to improve their skills, expand their rights and work to find a solution to many of society’s problems.
The Verona Juniors and its sisters have addressed the diverse needs of our communities by promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, working on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, advocating for issues of concern to women, children and families and supporting participation in the arts.
The GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Verona, Inc. is a versatile organization of 40+ members that has been involved in social and charitable work in the community since its inception in 1926.
In addition to raising funds for scholarships and donations to support community services and activities such as the Verona Rescue Squad, Public Library and Recreation Department, the Juniors have undertaken many and varied projects. They have spearheaded community improvement projects such as the Community Center Playground, the Children’s Room at the Verona Public Library, and placing benches on Bloomfield Avenue.
The Verona Juniors are a very active organization of women who want to give something back to their community and make new friends at the same time. New members are always welcome. See their website for membership information.
